Jr. was taken to a local hospital after a plane that he boarded crashed
as it was landing at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport on Thursday
afternoon, Carter County Sheriff's Office spokesman Thomas Gray
confirmed.
All passengers who were onboard, including Earnhardt, made it out of the plane alive, Gray said.
Earnhardt's
sister, Kelley, confirmed via Twitter that Earnhardt, his wife, Amy,
and daughter, Isla, were onboard along with two pilots. Kelley Earnhardt
said all five were safe and headed to a local hospital for evaluation.
